At Montfort, more than 200 volunteers work closely with staff members day after day to help enhance the quality of the patient experience in a meaningful way.
Coming from different generations and diverse cultural backgrounds, our volunteers form a committed community united by a common goal: to actively contribute to the quality, humanism, and francophone identity of the services provided.
The Volunteer Services Department is also proud to welcome volunteers at the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub.

Eligibility Criteria
To join our volunteer team, you must meet the following criteria:
Have a genuine commitment to helping others
Demonstrate empathy, kindness, and a sincere desire to contribute to the well-being of our community.
Be 18 years of age or older
Youth aged 14 to 17 may also participate in our Youth Volunteer Program, offered during the summer months.
Commit consistently
Be available for a minimum of four hours per week on a regular basis and commit to volunteering for at least six months to support service continuity and build meaningful relationships.
Share Montfort’s values
Respect confidentiality, demonstrate professionalism, and uphold the values of collaboration, compassion, respect, excellence, and equity.
Communicate in French and English
Be able to understand and communicate in both French and English.
Participate in the selection process
Complete all stages of the recruitment process, including an interview, a criminal record check, submission of required documentation, and participation in mandatory training.
Meet health and safety requirements
Comply with current health and safety measures, including immunization and infection prevention requirements.

A member of the Volunteer and Spiritual Care Services team will contact you to schedule an interview.
Due to the volume of applications and the needs of the various departments, several weeks may pass between the submission of your application and the start of the recruitment process.

Youth Volunteer Program
Are you between 14 and 17 years old and interested in discovering the world of healthcare while making a difference in your community?
The Montfort Hospital and Aline-Chrétien Health Hub Youth Volunteer Program offers you a unique opportunity to enjoy a rewarding experience at the heart of a stimulating and compassionate healthcare environment.
The program is offered exclusively during July and August and requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Discover the many professions within the healthcare sector,
- Develop your communication, leadership, and teamwork skills,
- Gain meaningful hands-on experience,
- Contribute to the well-being of patients, families, and staff.
Applications open during the winter, and the selection process takes place in the spring.
Due to the program's limited capacity, only selected candidates will be contacted, subject to available spots.
